Our strategy is how we will develop economic regulation of the water and sewerage sectors in England and Wales over the long term.

It sets out our long term priorities, what we want to achieve in the medium term and what we will do in the next three year period to deliver our aim of protecting consumers, promoting value and safeguarding the future.

Climate change policy spells out impact on people's lives
Services provided by the water and sewerage sector in England and Wales are fundamental to life and we all rely on them daily. Our comprehensive policy statement on climate change recognises that climate change will impact all of us. The document gathers together all of Ofwat's policies in relation to climate change, showing both how it is affecting the water sector and how our policies recognise this

Find out in our online international comparisons report where the water and sewerage sectors in England and Wales are benchmarked against these sectors in seven countries; from Portugal to Canada, Scotland to Australia.

This is the tenth year that Ofwat has published this report, which is the only one of its kind in the world.
