An on off solenoid valve is used wherever water flow has a requirement to be automatically controlled. On off solenoid valves are increasingly being installed in many different areas. Watersavers offer a variety of solenoid valves which are available to specifically suit your application. Call us on 01603 720999 to discuss
How does an on off solenoid operated valve work?
An on off solenoid valve is a control unit which either shut off or allow water flow if it is energised or de-energised. The actuator is a type of electromagnet which when it is energised caused a magnetic field build up and pulls a pivoted armature against a spring. When de-energised this pivoted armature is returned to its start position.
Watersavers WRAS approved Normally Closed brass solenoid on off solenoid valves are controlled using PIR Occupancy Switches to shut off the water supply when the building is unoccupied which prevents loss of water and water damage due to burst or leaking fittings. Other uses include restricting the amount of water used in a building or controlling the volume of water used by operatives, machines or processes such as cleaning, rinsing irrigation. These sanitary shut off valves (aka electric water valves) are available in sizes from 1/2″ to 2″ BSP.
